Book Review// A Beautiful Mess: Happy Handmade Home

Emma and Elsie are from my hometown, so I was genuinely looking forward to reading this book! I’ve been a long-time fan of Elsie and Emma’s site for yeeeeears, and enjoyed shopping at their two local stores.
Right off the bat, I could tell that it appeared they had total control of every detail of the book, visually, the layout, the “texture” of the book itself. As I like to say fairly often, it’s pretty slick!

I appreciate that their crafts are fairly easy for just about anyone to do, but especially because they all are quite AFFORDABLE. Which means a lot, coming from a family who just bought a new home and wants affordable, fun touches!  These girls have fun, quirky personalities, and that speaks to me as both a reader and a consumer! In order to keep my interest with books, blogs, or as a general consumer, I need to feel like I have some sort of connection to the person/company putting it out there.

If you’re not into DIY’s or bright things, it would be safe to assume this book would not be for you. I think it would also be safe to assume that most people who have this book or are interested in buying it are A Beautiful Mess blog followers.

I give this book a 9/10, only because I have seen a couple of the DIY’s on their website previously. Still an excellent book!!

I received this book from the Blogging for Books program in exchange for this review.
If you love reading ANY kind of book, I highly suggest checking this program out.
